I am an artist and retired art teacher originally from Copenhagen now living in Shetland. Initially trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Art in Copenhagen I have spent most of my working life in Denmark.

As a native of Denmark, Shetland with its perpetual poetical nonchalance, has been an inevitable challenge to my art since I paid the remote islands a visit twelve years ago.

On one hand a landscape with steep rocky shores, geos and stacks and on the other hand, an extensive peat land and unspoiled beaches complemented with a wide range of flora and fauna. This provides an ever changing backdrop for the local bird and wild life.

Sounds of an endless sea and howling winds interrupted by surf breaking on the shore emphasise the ruggedness of the whole scenery.

Past and present converge in my mind and challenge the borders of my fragile and material world
